Today would be an outstanding day for Donald Trump to apologize for the pervasive racism that he perpetuated when he was learning how to conduct business under the tutelage of his father in the 60’s and 70’s.
The lawsuit, filed by the Justice Department against Trump Management, detailed the practice of managers in the company marking housing applications from African-American applicants with a “C” (for colored) and routinely denying them housing. Trump and his father eventually signed a consent decree which laid out fair housing practices but did not acknowledge guilt.
If Donald Trump wants to be the president of all Americans, he should sincerely look into the next camera that points his way and apologize for the unethical way he ran his business. In the words of Martin Luther King Jr.: “The time is always right to do what is right.”
